Dmitry Egorov

Senior Developer

I design and grow high-load distributed systems in Python. 15+ years in development, 10+ of them as Senior and Tech Lead.

open to interesting problems

01About

Senior Python engineer with over 15 years of experience. I focus on high-load distributed systems, DevOps practices and engineering automation: RTB auctions, billing, monitoring, internal platforms.

I led the migration from a monolith to microservices, rolled out CI/CD, improved resilience and cut infrastructure cost. I formalise architecture decisions (ADR, Maturity Matrix), mentor engineers and run workshops, and invest in developer experience. AI tooling is now a regular part of how I build.

03Team & product

Engineering is never only code: part of the job is always about people, and about why we are building the feature at all.

People Management

  • Team Lead
  • 1:1s
  • Goal setting
  • Mentoring
  • Workshops
  • Onboarding

Led development teams as Team Lead, owning the process and the documentation around it. I mentor engineers, run internal workshops and write onboarding material — it visibly shortens ramp-up time and raises the maturity of the team.

I run regular 1:1s: feedback in both directions, blockers worked through, and an honest conversation about growth. In those meetings we set short-term goals — for the sprint and the quarter — alongside longer-term ones for the year, then track progress against them and adjust when priorities move.

Worked with distributed teams: SRE, DevOps, frontend, backend, real-time and design. Kept them in sync through regular meetings with goals and decisions written down, then folded the outcomes back into the PRD, the architecture and the plan.

Product Management

  • Discovery
  • PRD
  • Roadmap
  • RICE
  • A/B testing

Owned the product function for internal tooling: customer discovery through interviews, surveys and retrospectives; RICE prioritisation with a standing budget for technical debt; a PRD and success metrics per feature; A/B tests to validate hypotheses.

Analysed the RTB exchange funnel and segmented user roles to see where growth was worth chasing. My UI/UX and automation proposals made it into the roadmap. I translate technical constraints into business language and argue for tech debt in measurable terms.

04Highlights

Initiatives I proposed and shipped to production.

Releases: 2 hours → 15 minutes

  • CI/CD
  • GitLab CI
  • Helm

Rebuilt the release process with CI/CD templates, Helm charts and automated checks. Average release time dropped from two hours to fifteen minutes.

Infrastructure cost cut 10×

  • Kubernetes
  • Profiling
  • GCP

Profiling, bottleneck hunting and a hard look at resource sizing: in some services infrastructure spend fell tenfold with no loss of reliability.

Monolith → microservices

  • Microservices
  • RabbitMQ
  • ADR

Tech lead of the migration: decomposed the monolith, moved to event-driven messaging over RabbitMQ, captured the decisions as ADRs.

Slack bot with LLM analytics

  • Python
  • LLM
  • Slack API

A bot that answers questions across several databases, so business and dev teams get answers without pulling an engineer in.
